What is Remanufactured/Recycled Inkjet cartridge?
What is remanufactured/Recycled Toner cartridge?
For toner cartridge (any brand), remanufactured cartridge means
cartridge is dissembled and replaced some worn out parts (i.e.
drum), refilled with quality toner powder and test printed.
What is compatible cartridge?
Compatible cartridge is a product manufactured by third parties
other than Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). OEMs are brand
name companies such as Brother, Canon, Epson, HP, Lexmark, Xerox,
etc. The compatible product are fully functioned as OEM cartridges.
The major different is the price, it can save up to 80% in using
compatible cartridges as a replacement of OEM cartridges. For some
compatible cartridges, the color may has a slightly different from
the OEM. Would the use of
compatible or remanufactured cartridges void the printer warranty?
Under US laws,
Magnusson-Moss Warranty Federal Commission Improvement Act
(Subparagraph C, section 101), it is prohibited the
manufacturer to void the warranty if the user use compatible and
remanufactured cartridge. Canadian customer are also protect under
the section 77 of
Canadian
Competition Act. Tips for inkjet
cartridge 1) Do not dry out
your inkjet cartridges. Dried out inkjet cartridge will not be
able to refill or remanufacture and will cause the print head clogged
whatever it is come with the cartridge or with the printer. If you
place a inkjet cartridge in your printer, it would be a good
practice to print some color and black print out at least once in
2-3 weeks. If the cartridge is already dried out, do not use it to
print, it will damage the print head with heat.
2) It would be a good practice to use cleaning
cartridge , if available, to "wash the print head in between changing
the inkjet cartridges. Even you are using OEM cartridges, it would
keep your printer health to use cleaning cartridge to clean the
print head.
3) In some occasions
clogged inkjet cartridges with built-in print head could be unblocked
the print head by placing the print head part of the cartridge in
warm water for 3-4 minutes. It could dissolve the dried ink.
4) Some of the
HP OEMs cartridges models are not in full tank, usually ending with
"D" in the code, these cartridges have less ink and lower price are
good for user print not very often. However, these cartridges are in
full tank when they are recycled.
Tips for toner cartridges
1) When your printer has a signal saying
the toner is low, it is still possible to print for a little while,
take the toner cartridge our and shake it horizontally and then put
it back. It may help to print a while.
2) Some toner cartridges are available in high yield
model, which can provide 30% to 100% more output. It would save even
more if using remanufactured high yield toner cartridges.
3) Toner cartridges can store up to 2 yrs in normal
room temperature without any problem.
