Reverse Osmosis Water Filter Systems for Homes and Offices
If used for the purpose of drinking water production, RO systems are designed for potable (microbiologically safe) water only, and that the level of hardness of the feed water should not exceed 170ppm(mg/L)= 10gpg(grains per gallon). If your feed water does not fulfill these two conditions, please email us for further advice.
All reverse osmosis filter systems are compliant to Boil Water Advisory requirements (if used with a UV sterilizer of suitable capacity).
The Smart Alternative to Expensive Bottled Water
The Reverse Osmosis (RO) process produces very clean water equivalent to the purity of distilled water. Infectious micro-organisms (such as cryptosporidium and giardia) are very effectively blocked by reverse osmosis. It is a technology whereby water with impurities is forced through a semi-permeable membrane to produce very pure water, with most of the impurities (even dissolved solids) rejected by the membrane and passed down the drain. The micron rating equivalent of RO is to the order of 0.0005 micron (1 micron = 0.001mm), compared to 30 to 50 microns for pitcher type filters found in department stores.
RO is a relatively inexpensive way of supplying very clean water, and is gradually taking over the bottled water market worldwide. It is much less expensive than botled water, and much faster than distillation. The quality of water produced by reverse osmosis is equivalent to bottled distilled water - between 0.5ppm to 2ppm of total dissolved solids (TDS).
Installation is simple and only requires tapping into an existing cold water line using a self-piercing saddle valve (no tools required) or for the countertop model, simply connect the unit to an existing faucet.
