Note: When water is passed through newly installed GAC (granulated active carbon) cartridges, carbon fines in the manufacturing process will be washed out by the water. The release of carbon fines in the initial few days of use is normal. However, it is therefore advisable to allow water to run through the filter system very slowly for about 5 to 10 minutes to avoid carbon fines from washing out in large quantities which may either cause the filtered water to be greyish in colour or being lodged onto the surface of another filter cartridge downstream (if any).

VERY IMPORTANT:
When changing the Granulated Active Carbon (GAC) cartridges, make sure that the single round orifice of the cartridge points to the single round receptacle of the base of the filter. If the direction is reversed, water flow will be cut off or extremely slow.
