Water Supply Capacity:
Each cooler with a reverse osmosis (RO) system produces a minimum of 40L (2 standard 5 gallon bottles) of purified water every 8 hours (purity rated at 0.5 to 3 ppm of residual impurities) and normally serves up to 40 to 50 FTEs (full-time-equivalents). For non-RO systems, the capacity is even higher at a minimum of 200L per hour. However, non-RO filter systems do not produce water as pure as that produced by RO filter systems.

Ultra-violet (UV) sterilizer is an option as an additional and very effective second line of defence against bacteria such as the potentially deadly E.coli bacteria.

Note: Some bacteria such as E.coli are too small to be removed by conventional sediment-carbon filtration or by 0.5 micron carbon block filtration. Hence RO filtration (with or without UV) is superior to conventional filtration.

The filter cartridges are to be changed at different intervals. Filter change is easy with our easy pull-out/plug-in connectors.

Filter change frequency is as follows - (Guidelines only, actual frequency will depend on water quality & water consumption):

Reverse Osmosis (RO) -
RC1 (sediments) 6 -12 months RC2 (carbon block) 12 months
RC3 (RO membrane) 36 months or longer
RC4 (carbon block) 24 months

Important note:
Do not allow the filter cartridges to be clogged up otherwise the booster pump may be damaged/

Ultra-filtration (UF) -
RC1 (sediments) 6 months or longer until plugging up
RC2 (granulated active carbon) 12 months
RC3 (Ultrafiltration) 24 months or clogging up (whichever is the earlier)
RC4 (carbon block) 24 months

Note:
All cartridge life figures are estimates only and vary with local water conditions and actual water consumption levels.

Use of a one-stage or two-stage pre-filter may be useful in high sediment or high chlorine areas.

If your water supply is hard water (10 gpg/171 ppm or higher), a polyphosphate pre-filter is recommended to reduce the hardness of the water supply and the lengthen the life of the RO membrane.

NOTES ON INSTALLATION
Access to water supply is by means of a self-tapping saddle valve provided. There is also a drain port (for the RO's reject water) to be connected to a drain (such as the U-trap of the kitchen sink), and an electrical outlet is required to power the unit and an optional UV sterilizer). We provide installation service in selected parts of BC and Ontario (Canada).
